Why Does God Not Respond to Me?

 

People often ask: “Why does God not respond to me?”

I say: If you worship something like a stone or a statue, then you are already wrong for asking help from something that cannot hear, cannot see, and cannot respond in any way.

Ibrahim (Abraham) and His Father

1. Gentle Advice to His Father

Ibrahim’s father (called Āzar in Qur’an chapter 6:verse 74) used to make and worship idols. Ibrahim, even as a youth, advised him with respect and mercy:

Qur’an chapter 19:verses 41–45 “And mention in the Book Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet. When he said to his father: ‘O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all? O my father, indeed there has come to me knowledge which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to an even path. O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed, Satan is ever disobedient to the Most Merciful. O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion.’”

🔹 Here we see how Ibrahim called his father four times with gentleness: “O my father…”

And if you worship a human being, whether a man or a woman, then they are still just like you: born, destined to die, and unable to grant your wishes except in the limited way any human can.

If you want divine help, then you must call upon your real God — the One who is Ever-Living, the First and the Last.
He is nothing like His creation. He is not a statue, not a man, not a woman, not an animal.
He is beyond imagination, and above His creation.

There is nothing in the heavens or the earth except that it comes to Him as a slave.

📖 Surah Maryam (19:93)

إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَبْدًۭا

“There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant.” — Sahih International

📖 Ayat al-Kursi — Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255)

Allāh — there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is before them and what is after them.
And they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.
His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Who Is Allah? — The Description of Allah

From the Qur’an:

• Allah is One (112:1)
• Allah is the Eternal Refuge (112:2)
• He neither begets nor is begotten (112:3)
• There is none comparable to Him (112:4)
• Allah is the Lord of daybreak (113:1)
• Allah is the Oft-Returning in mercy (110:3)
• He is the Lord, the King, and the only God of humanity (114:1–3)

Allah Cannot Be Seen in This World

📖 Surah Al-An‘am (6:103)

لَّا تُدْرِكُهُ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ

“Vision cannot perceive Him, but He perceives all vision. And He is the Subtle, the All-Aware”

🧠 Meaning

• “Vision cannot perceive Him”:
  No eye, no camera, no imagination can ever see Allah in this world.
• “He perceives all vision”:
  Allah sees every glance, every intention, every heart.

📌 Why Can’t We See Allah?

Because Allah is not part of creation.
Eyes were created to see physical objects, not the Creator.

Even Prophet Musa (Moses) ﷺ fainted when Allah showed a manifestation of His Light to a mountain (7:143).

🌈 Will Allah Ever Be Seen?

Yes — by the believers in Paradise:

“On that Day, faces will be radiant, looking at their Lord.”
(75:22–23)

The Gap Between Prophets (Fatrah)

📖 Surah Al-Mā’idah (5:19)

Allah tells the People of the Scripture:

“There has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you [the truth] after a period with no messengers…
A bringer of good tidings and a warner.
And Allah is over all things competent.”

This refers to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ being sent after a long fatrah following Isa (Jesus) ﷺ.

Whom Will You Worship?

You must prove yourself to God — that you are sincere, obedient, grateful, and patient.

But first, decide: Who is the true God?

Is it:

• the blue god of Hinduism,
• the white god-man of Christianity,
• the nude enlightened figure of Buddhism,
• or any other created being?

All of them were born from a mother, all of them eat, drink, sleep, and die.
None of them can create even a fly.

📖 Surah Al-Hajj (22:73)

Arabic:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٌ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَن يَخْلُقُوا ذُبَابًا وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا لَهُ ۖ وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْئًا لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ ۚ ضَعُفَ الطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُ

English (Sahih International):

“O people, an example is presented, so listen to it:
Indeed, those you call upon besides Allah will never create [even] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose.
And if the fly should steal away from them a thing, they could not recover it from him.
Weak are the pursuer and the pursued

Let me tell you about the One who truly deserves worship:

The One besides whom there is no deity,
The One who sees all eyes,
But no eye can see Him,
The One who created you from a drop of fluid,
And will resurrect you after death.

Creation of Human Beings

📖 Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:12–14)

“We created man from an extract of clay.
Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging.
Then the sperm-drop into a clinging clot.
Then a lump of flesh.
Then bones.
Then We clothed the bones with flesh.
Then We developed him into another creation.
So blessed is Allah, the Best of creators.”

The Final Warning

If you believe in Him in this life, He will grant you eternal Paradise.

But if you reject Him and worship created beings —
whether a “blue god,”
a “white god,”
a “nude god,”
or any other being who cannot even create a fly —
then the end is Hell forever.
