The story of Krishna stealing the Gopis' clothes (Vastraharana)

Introduction

A famous pastime from the Srimad Bhagavatam(The highest book of hindus), where the young Krishna took the Gopis' garments while they bathed naked in the Yamuna River, climbing a Kadamba tree with them.

The Story

The Setup: The Gopis (cowherd women) of Vrindavan, deeply devoted to Krishna, were observing a vow to have Him as their husband, as described in Vedic texts.

The Act: One day, while bathing nude in the Yamuna River as part of their ritual, Krishna playfully stole their clothes from the riverbank and perched in a nearby Kadamba tree.

The Demand: He told the shivering Gopis they must come out of the water, one by one, with their hands covering themselves or in simple terms covering their Private part, and offer obeisance (bow down) to Him before He would return their garments.

The Lesson: The Gopis, though initially shy, eventually complied, demonstrating complete surrender and humility to their beloved Krishna. Krishna, pleased with their pure love, returned their clothes and accepted their devotion.

So this is How The Gopis of Vardavan Proved their True Bhakti(Worship and Love) of Krishna by coming out of the river infront of him Butt naked,no Thong,no G-String Nothing except pure Love and devotion of God Krishna and Krishna acknowledging them as his spiritual wives.

Symbolically, it represents the soul's surrender, shedding worldly attachments (clothes) to approach God with pure, humble devotion, with Krishna fulfilling their desire for union by teaching them complete vulnerability and devotion, a lesson in pure love and spiritual realization.

The Way of Ancient Civilizations

This is the doing of those ancient civilizations toward whom Allah sent His Prophets, yet they took their religion as mockery, attributed shamelessness and evil deeds to Allah and His Messengers, and justified corruption in the name of tradition.

Those Who Took Religion as Amusement

“Who took their religion as distraction and amusement, and whom the worldly life deluded.”So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.Qur’an 7:51

Accountability for Misguiding Others

“They will bear their burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and some of the burdens of those whom they misled.”Qur’an 16:25

“On the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah—their faces blackened.”Qur’an 39:60

Allah will say: “Enter among the nations that passed away before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire.”Every time a nation enters, it curses its sister nation until, when they have all followed one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them:“Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them double punishment of the Fire.”He will say: “For each is double, but you do not know.”

And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn."Quran (7:38–39)

“If you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah.”Qur’an 6:116

Their Objection and Hypocrisy

Even after all this, they have the audacity to complain about the marriages of the Mothers of the Believers to our Prophet:

Why did the Prophet marry Aisha, a child?

Why did he marry Khadijah, an old woman?

Why did he marry Safiyyah bint Huyayy, the most youthful and beautiful among his wives?

From every side, had our Prophet not married, but instead promoted nudity and adultery like the false gods they worship, they would have been pleased, satisfied, and accepting of him.

Allah has warned of a similar fate.

Divine Warning to the Children of Adam of having a Similar fate as their Parents

Qur’an 7:26–30

26. O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness—that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.

27. O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.

Attributing shamelessness to Allah (God)

28. And when they commit an immorality, they say, “We found our fathers doing it, and Allah commanded us to do it.” Say, “Indeed, Allah does not command immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?”

29. Say, “My Lord has commanded justice, and that you maintain yourselves toward Him at every place of prostration, and invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion. Just as He originated you, you will return.”

30. A group He guided, and a group deserved misguidance. Indeed, they had taken the devils as allies instead of Allah while they thought that they were guided.

Allah(God) does not want you to be butt Naked for his approval

Qur’an 7:31–39

31. O children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer, and eat and drink, but do not be excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess.

32. Say, “Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good things of provision?” Say, “They are for those who believe during worldly life, exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection.” Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.

33. Say, “My Lord has only forbidden immoralities—what is apparent of them and what is concealed—and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.”

Every Nation shall be held accountable for her Actions

34. And for every nation is a term. When their term comes, they will not delay it by an hour, nor will they advance it.

35. O children of Adam, if there come to you messengers from among you relating My verses to you, then whoever fears Allah and reforms—there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

36. But those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them—those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

37. And who is more unjust than one who invents lies about Allah or denies His signs? Those will attain their portion of the decree until, when Our messengers come to take them in death, they will say, “Where are those you used to invoke besides Allah?” They will say, “They have departed from us,” and will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
